Dr. Quinn is going country.

Jane Seymour has signed on for CMT's upcoming pilot His Wives & Daughters, a comedic soap chronicling the relationships of country music legend (and womanizer) Eddie Ray Banks, TVGuide.com has learned.

Seymour will play Lorna Larson Banks, Eddie's first wife and musical partner who went on to have a hugely successful solo career of her own. A celebrity in her own right, Lorna is "slightly out of touch with reality as a result of being in the public eye for so long," and is estranged from her and Eddie's only daughter April, as the result of a tell-all memoir April published.

His Wives & Daughters will follow the fractured Banks family as they reunite unexpectedly, with old rivalries flaring up again and secrets coming to light as a mystery unfolds. Additional cast announcements about the project will be announced in the coming weeks.

The series is one of a handful of scripted shows premiering on CMT in 2017, including Nashville, moving over from ABC, and the limited series Million Dollar Quartet. CMT is also developing a TV version of the movie Varsity Blues.
