JAG star David James Elliott will at long last be reprising his role as Harmon Rabb Jr. on one of the long-running procedural's even longer-running NCIS spin-offs. Elliott will guest star in a multi-episode arc on NCIS: Los Angeles in May, TV Guide has learned.

Elliott played the main character on the naval legal procedural JAG from 1995 to 2005. JAG was spun off into NCIS, which was itself spun off into NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. The guest spot will reunite Elliott with NCIS: LA showrunner R. Scott Gemmill, who was a producer on JAG Seasons 1-4.

"I was really excited to get a chance to work with David again," Gemmill said in a statement. "I did the first 4 seasons of JAG with him so to be able to work together again in and of itself is great-but to do so with the same character... on our show... this many years later--that's pretty damn amazing."

Elliott's first appearance on NCIS: LA will come on Sunday, May 12th's 10 p.m. episode, called "The Guardian." In the episode, the NCIS team will uncover ISIS sympathizers who seem to be planning an attack on American aircraft carriers, which leads to Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) working directly with Rabb, the XO Captain on the USS Intrepid.

NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
