JACK REJECTS BETTE
Bette Midler may not be above doing television, but Jack Nicholson apparently is. According to Time, the Divine Miss M approached the Oscar-winning actor about making an appearance on her new self-titled CBS sitcom, but he declined. Midler says she phoned the big-screen legend and said, "C'mon, it's no big deal: You'll get in your car; you'll come down here; It'll be hilarious." Apparently, the Joker didn't get the joke.
