Hulu Renews East Los High for Season 3

Hulu has renewed East Los Highfor a third season, the streaming service announced Saturday at the Television Critics Association's fall previews.

The teen drama's second season, which premiered July 9, features Ceci (Danielle Vega) returning to coach the dance squad, the introduction of a new crop of students and the big mystery of where Amber Garcia disappeared to.

Unlike the first season, which told a complete story that included a year time jump after graduation, the producers have structured Season 2 in a way that won't force them to reintroduce a whole new set of characters every season. "[Season 2] is definitely a lot more open-ended than Season 1," executive producer Carlos Portugal said.

East Los High, which has remained one of the most popular shows on Hulu since its debut in 2013, is the first English-language TV show with an all Latino cast. "For us to finally see ourselves in something like this, it's really something revolutionary," star Vanessa Vasquez said.
