First Look: Hulu's Deadbeat Summons Big Laughs

In Hulu's new half-hour comedy Deadbeat, two mediums — one real and one fake — are at odds. The ability of Kevin "Pac Man" Pacalioglu (Tyler Labine) to talk to the denizens of the underworld comes naturally, unlike that of the glitzy Camomile White (So You Think You Can Dance's Cat Deeley), who has parlayed her "talent" into a business empire.

"I've based her on Alexis Carrington Colby [from Dynasty] — she's a real baddie," Deeley says. When their worlds collide, Kevin realizes the truth. "She's a big, fat fraud — minus the 'fat' part," Labine jokes.

The 10-­episode series begins streaming April 9.
