Winter has come and gone, but the watch is still not quite over.

Exactly one week after the Game of Thronesseries' finale first aired, HBO is debuting a two-hour documentary about the making of the show's eighth and final season, titled Game of Thrones: The Last Watch.

Directed by Jeanie Finlay, The Last Watch goes behind the scenes of the six-episode final season, with new footage of the cast, creatives, and crew hard at work to make all of those intense battle scenes possible, implement the changing visions of Westeros, and preparing to say goodbye to these beloved characters at last.

As the trailer for the special shows, emotions were running very high throughout the process of producing the final season. Famously, Finlay managed to capture a particularly touching moment at the very first table read for Game of Thrones Season 8, when series lead Kit Harington found out about his characters' fate in front of the rest of the cast. Game of Thrones: The Last Watch also promises to take fans even deeper into the making of the massive set pieces, decadent costume designs, and stuntwork that went into making the season so visually dynamic.

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch airs on HBO on Sunday, May 26 at 9/8c and will also be available on demand and through HBOGo and HBONow. Need HBO? Add it through Hulu!
