Season five of Homeland will shoot on-location in Germany, Showtime announced Monday.
Beginning in early June, the drama will shoot at Studio Babelsberg in Berlin, becoming the first American television series to shoot a full season entirely in Germany.
Homeland Season 5: A massive time jump and Carrie no longer a CIA officer
As co-creator Alex Gansa revealed at PaleyFest in March, the news season will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's (Claire Danes) tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with working on the front lines in the war on terror, she finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA, working for a private security firm.
The 12-episode season will premiere this fall on Showtime.
