Here's Your First Look at Outlander's Tobias Menzies in The Crown

We have our first look at Tobias Menzies in The Crown!

Netflix dropped the first image of the Outlander alum as the famous monarch and it's a far cry from his villainous turn as Black Jack Randall on the hit Starz series. The stellar image shows him decked out in royal garb, staring out of a window probably wondering why the casting on the series is so perfect. Same, Tobias. Same.

Season 3 will see a bit of a shakeup with all the major players being recast as the show tackles Elizabeth's later years. In addition to Menzies inheriting the role of Prince Philip from Matt Smith, Olivia Colman, will take over the role of Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy. Plus, Helena Bonham Carter will succeed Vanessa Kirby as the new Princess Margaret and Jesus Christ Superstar's Ben Daniels step into the role of Princess Margaret's husband Antony Armstrong-Jones, previously played by Matthew Goode. Meanwhile, Florence Foster Jenkins actor Josh O'Connor will take over the role of Prince Charles from Julian Baring and Allied's Marion Bailey will replace Victoria Hamilton as the Queen Mother. (Change is hard, we know, but we'll get through this together.)

Seasons 3 and 4 are expected to cover Elizabeth's reign from 1964 to 1976, which includes major life events such as the birth of Prince Edward in 1964 and Prince Charles's coronation as the Prince of Wales in 1969. Other important moments likely to be featured on the series include Beatlemania and England's 1966 World Cup victory, as well as the queen's political relationship with Prime Minister Harold Wilson played by Jason Watkins.

The Crown is expected to return in 2019 on Netflix. In the meantime, you can stream Seasons 1 and 2 right now.
