James Gandolfini's legacy continues, as HBO is reviving a project he championed before his sudden death in 2013.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Big Dead Place, a modern-day survival tale that delves into the drama among scientists, blue-collar workers and politicians in Antarctica, now has Sopranosalum Tim Van Patten as director/executive producer attached.

The drama is inspired by Nicholas Johnson's book Big Dead Place: Inside the Strange & Menacing World of Antarctica, and is one of a few Gandolfini-produced shows that faced an uncertain fate following his death. No release date has been announced.
