The Fox series, a remake of the U.K. drama Broadchurch, will not return for a second season, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Starring Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) and David Tennant (Broadchurch) as two detectives investigating the murder of a small-town boy, Gracepoint was always billed as a "limited series," so the news of its "cancellation" should not come as a surprise.
Last week's series finale drew only 4 million viewers and a 0.9 among adults 18-49, but if the ratings for Gracepoint had been there, it's possible Fox—which has been having a rough fall in the wake of Red Band Society, Utopia and Mulaney all failing to deliver—could have pulled a CBS and ordered a second season.
After all, a second season of the original Broadchurch was ordered in the U.K. At least Tennant still has that paycheck to look forward to.
