Gotham: It Sure Sounds Like Bane Is Coming in the Final Season

It's right there in the episode title

What's the latest in the Gothamrumor files? BANE, BABY!

One of Batman's biggest pains in the neck back may be headed to Fox's small-screen "calm down, we'll get to Batman eventually" series, if some unearthed episode titles for the fifth and final season of Gotham are any indication.

SpoilerTV has the list of the first eight episodes of Season 5 -- Gotham's final season is rumored to be 10 episodes long -- and you'll want to pay attention to the title of Episode 8: "I am Bane." I reached out to Fox and asked if the episode titles were real, and Fox said, "Yup!"

As far as trying to keep things secret, that's about as poor of an attempt as you can pull off. But then again, maybe Gotham is done with trying to keep things secret and is having a huge blowout in its final season. "Bane's coming? Hell yeah, I'll watch!" is a much better response than "Oh Bane was on Gotham last night? I'll check it out after this mountain of TV on my DVR."

Gotham's Final Season Will Be Shorter Than You Thought

This news piggybacks on a Gotham casting call that was looking for an actor to play Eduardo Dorrance, known to DC fans as King Snake and the father of Bane. So yeah, Bane's coming.

Bane has been a *ahem* bane to Batman for quite some time now. He broke Batman's back in the comics, and was most famously brought to the big screen by Tom Hardy in The Dark Night Rises, in which he really put a damper on the Pittsburgh Steelers' season.

He'll join what looks like a baddie blowout in the final season of Gotham, as the Joker is almost definitely absolutely positively going to appear in Season 5, alongside the rest of the villains like Penguin, the Riddler, Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

Gotham returns in 2019 on Fox.
