In the wake of Josh Charles' exit from The Good Wife, Matthew Goode has been promoted to series regular for the rest of Season 5, CBS announced Thursday.
Goode first appeared on the series as Finn Polmar, a new prosecutor in the State's Attorney office, in Sunday's shocking episode, in which Will Gardner (Charles) was gunned down after his client (Hunter Parrish) went on a shooting rampage in court.
Christina Baranski on The Good Wife's big exit: I'm still in disbelief
In a press release for the April 13th episode, Goode is listed as a series regular. Executive producer Robert King recently told TVLine.com that Finn will be caught in the "political crossfire" of the events preceding the shooting as the State's Attorney office searches for a scapegoat. There's no word yet on Goode's status for The Good Wife's sixth season.
Goode's other credits include Watchmen, Leap Year and Match Point.
Are you excited that Goode is sticking around?
The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
