Giancarlo Esposito has joined Baz Luhrmann's Netflix drama The Get Down.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Breaking Bad alum will play Pastor Ramon Cruz, the charismatic head of the local Pentecostal church who attracts a flock of followers with his fiery sermons and firm, steady leadership. Pastor Cruz also happens to be the brother of Papa Fuerte (Jimmy Smits), a South Bronx political boss and the father of Mylene Cruz (Herizen F. Guardiola), whose disco dreams become a point of contention in the family.

In addition to Smits and Guardiola, Esposito also joins Jaden Smith, Mamoudou Athie, Shameik Moore, Justice Smith, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr. and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the musical drama.

Hot, hot, hot TV eye candy!

The Get Down will explore the birth of hip-hop, punk and disco through the lives of a rag-tag group of South Bronx teenagers in the 1970s. Luhrmann will executive-produce the series and also direct the first two episodes and finale.
