Game of Thrones: Does Melisandre's Prophecy Mean Arya Will Kill Cersei Next?

If there's one takeaway from Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones, it's that Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is definitely not No One, and anyone who chuckles at her ambition to kill the Queen from here on out is a bloody fool. In fact, the same prophecy that inspired her epic takedown of The Night King might just confirm that she'll check the biggest name off her list after all: Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).

Before "The Long Night," Arya had proven herself to be a stealthy and sophisticated warrior. Thanks to the tutelage of water dancer Syrio Forel (Miltos Yerolemou), Faceless Men Jaqen H'ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) and the Waif (Faye Marsay), and even the Hound (Rory McCann), she steadily evolved into the kind of lethal assassin who could take down the entire Frey family at once and get the better of the Realm's ultimate trickster, Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen).

However, "The Long Night" brought fans one surprising and cathartic payoff to all of Arya Stark's brushes with the God of Death, as she and her Valyrian steel dagger said "not today" to the Night King at the Battle of Winterfell.

At one point, after a terrifying chase with wights who'd breached Winterfell's walls, she seemed ready to throw in the towel and nurse her wounds in some chambers. But then Melisandre (Carice van Houten) arrived to remind her of something she'd said to her long, long ago.

Way back in Season 3's "The Climb," Arya first met the Red Witch in the Riverlands when the priestess bought Gendry (Joe Dempsie) from the Brotherhood Without Banners so that she could leech his blood. Arya objected to the sale, of course, but Melisandre told her, "I see a darkness in you, and in that darkness eyes staring back at me: brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever."

Upon reuniting with Arya, Melisandre reminded A Girl of that prophecy, with emphasis on the "blue eyes" portion. That reminder -- along with a mention of Syrio's famous last words -- inspired her deliver that fatal wintry blow that will be seared into Game of Thrones fans' memories forever. As satisfying as it was, though, Arya's still not finished with her list, and some fans think Melisandre's prediction also applies to Cersei, since she has green eyes.

It's worth noting that in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, Cersei isn't the only Lannister with green eyes -- Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is also green-eyed (though the show, unlike the books, hasn't focused on his eye color). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) has two different eye colors in the book series: one green, one black.

However, there are some who think there may be another green-eyed queen who could wind up feeling the pointy end of Arya's Needle before it's all said and done.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) also happens to have greenish eyes, and considering how unenthusiastic all of the Starks look about her continued desire to fight for the Iron Throne in the preview for Episode 4, perhaps Arya will turn the pointy end to the Mother of Dragons instead. After all, Arya did tell the Lannister forces she ran across in the Riverlands in "Dragonstone," "I'm going to kill the queen." She didn't specify which one.
