FXX has ordered a new animated comedy Cassius and Clay, the network announced Friday.

From Archer creator Adam Reed and Modern Family's Megan Ganz, the 10 episode action-buddy comedy will star Kailtin Olson as Cassius and Lake Bell as Clay. Together, the duo will have to take on surviving the futuristic, post-apocalyptic American South.

Susan Sarandon will also lend her voice to the new series as a brothel owner and Jeffrey Tambor will play the local mayor. JB Smoove, Kevin Michael Richardson, Katy Mixon, Robert Patrick and Stephen Root round out the cast.

When Cassius and Clay debuts in 2016, it will be paired with Archer, which will move from FX to FXX for its seventh season.

FX has also added a new comedy to its lineup. The network ordered Better Things, co-created by and starring Pamela Adlon. The series will look at the life of Sam, a working woman and single mother raising three daughters on her own.

Adlon wrote the pilot with co-creator Louis C.K., who also directed the episode. Adlon and C.K. will executive-produce together.
