FX will not be moving forward with Russell Brand's late-night talk show Brand X, CEO John Landgraf announced Thursday.

But Brand's relationship with the network isn't going away. FX plans to develop a live action comedy starring and produced by Brand. "It'll be a live action show that is loosely based on his life like Curb Your Enthusiasm is loosely based on Larry David's life," Landgraf said.

Never miss an episode! Add new fall shows to your Watchlist

Landgraf said FX made the decision after comparing Brand X to W. Kamau Bell and Chris Rock's show, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, which will become a daily show on FXX when the new network launches this fall.

"Kamau and Chris were more ready to convert to a daily show in terms of their production process," Landgraf explained. "They had a profusion of material, they had their format down and were read. Second of all, we saw more potential and more upside in the audience response. So, since we're moving forward with that one, we're not moving forward with Brand X."

Are you disappointed Brand X is ending, and are you looking forward to the new show starring Brand?
