Fox is looking to replicate Empire's success with black audiences with a drama aimed at Latinos.
Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox TV is developing an as-yet-untitled modern reinterpretation of Romeo & Juliet "set against the backdrop of Los Angeles' new Latino wealth in the music and radio industry."
This is Fox's second recent attempt to develop a Latino Empire after Urban Cowboy, a pilot that was not picked up. It will be written and executive-produced by Instructions Not Included's Eduardo Cisneros and Lone Survivor's Jason Shuman.
