Ousted Opie and Anthony host Anthony Cumia was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation on Saturday at his home in Hempstead, New York, after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.

Court documents obtained by Newsday state that Cumia stomped on the woman's hand, choked her, and pinned her against a wall. The documents state that the woman escaped from the house, only to have Cumia carry her back inside and choke her. Prosecutors say the woman suffered a fractured rib, and in a Periscope video streamed by the woman during the altercation, she says that he broke her hand.

Cumia was released on his own recognizance and ordered to stay away from the victim. He faces charges of strangulation, criminal mischief, unlawful imprisonment, and assault. Cumia's attorney denied all the charges against his client, saying "things are not what they seem to be."

Cumia has a history of bad behavior: He was fired by Sirius XM satellite radio last year after going on a racist Twitter rant about a physical altercation he had with an African-American woman. His place on the Opie and Anthony show was taken over by comedian Jim Norton. After his firing, he has hosted his own online paid subscription show.
