Fox's serial-killer drama The Following has a new leader. Jennifer Johnson has been hired as the day-to-day showrunner for the Kevin Bacon-starring series as it heads into Season 3, Deadline reports.

Johnson steps in to replace The Following creator Kevin Williamson in the role, as Williamson moves on to preside over his new CBS show Stalker. Williamson will remain on board The Following as an executive producer and will still be heavily involved in the show.

Johnson and Fox have a long history. She served as showrunner on 2012's Alcatraz, and was a consulting producer for Touch and co-executive producer on Gang Related. In stepping in as showrunner for The Following, Johnson returns to WBTV as part of an overall deal. She recently wrapped up a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox.

Do you think Johnson can help The Following?
