Were you in the mood to laugh or have a therapeutic cry on Wednesday night? Your mood may have determined how you felt about the night's big premieres for ABC's new shows: Single Parents and A Million Little Things.

Single Parents is the evening's comedy entry and stars the genuinely funny Taran Killam, Leighton Meester and Brad Garrett as, you guessed it, single parents trying to get each other through parenthood. They may hate the phrase, but it takes a village. Is this a village that you want to live in for 30 minutes every week?

If you were in a more serious mood, then maybe A Million Little Things hit the spot. The new drama, which is aiming for the This Is Us audience, focuses on a group of friends reeling in the aftermath of their leader's suicide. They make a commitment to be better for each other, but in the process secrets are revealed and the friends realize the complicated web they've woven.
