American Idol alum Matt Rogers will host USA's new reality series Summer Camp,  TVGuide.com has learned.
From Big Brother's Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, the reality series brings 16 adults back to their favorite locale of their youth: summer camp. But instead of campfire sing-alongs, they will compete in over-the-top, camp-inspired challenges. At the end of the summer, the finalists face off in the Campathalon, an Olympic-style event to determine the winner.

"A reality TV veteran, Matt brings a relatability and an energy that is a perfect fit for this fun-filled summer competition series," Heather Olander, USA's senior vice president of alternative programming, said in a statement. "As a former camper himself, we are excited to see Matt relive the experience all over again alongside this incredible group of characters."

Rogers, who finished in 11th place on the third season of Idol, has hosted GSN's Beat the Chefs, Discovery's Really Big Things, CBS' There Goes the Neighborhood and Lifetime's Coming Home, for which he also wrote the theme song.Summer Camp premieres Thursday, July 11 at 8/7c on USA.
