Ewan McGregor will be the next movie star to take on a lead role in FX's anthology series Fargo. According to Deadline, McGregor has been cast to anchor Season 3 of Noah Hawley's acclaimed Upper Midwestern crime series.

McGregor will play dual roles as brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. Emmit, the older brother, is the "Parking Lot King of Minnesota," a wealthy and handsome real estate mogul. His younger brother Ray is a gone-to-seed parole officer who blames his brother for his life going off track. Probably not coincidentally, William H. Macy's character in the movie Fargo wanted to invest in a parking lot with his wealthy father-in-law (Harve Presnell), who had gotten out of the parking lot business years before because it was too tough to make money.

McGregor is the first person cast for Season 3, which is scheduled to begin shooting later this year for a 2017 release. Season 1 starred Billy Bob Thornton and Season 2 starred Patrick Wilson.
