ER's Anthony Edwards Joins CBS Nancy Drew Pilot

Anthony Edwards has been cast in Drew, an upcoming CBS pilot based on the Nancy Drew mystery novels, Deadline reports.

Edwards will play Carson, Nancy Drew's father, who is an attorney. Edwards is best known for playing Dr. Mark Greene for eight seasons on ER. He also played Goose in Top Gun.

The role of Nancy has not been cast yet, but CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller said last month that the character will not be Caucasian.

Drew will reimagine the iconic teenage sleuth as an NYPD detective in her 30s.
