Producer Sanna Hamri teases the episode
It's been a wild ride on the second season of Empire, hasn't it? We've seen a parade of celebrity guests, deaths, and guns drawn, as well as Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) giving Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) another broom beatdown, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) getting shot and of course, Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) going tumbling down the stairs.
As we await the season finale to wrap up some suspenseful storylines, we turned to Empire producer Sanna Hamri to offer some clues about what to expect.
1. Is Jamal alive?
(Actually, she wouldn't comment on that but here's a clue.)
2. Will we learn who pushed Rhonda?
Yes. And it'll be doubly surprising -- not only is the answer unexpected, but there's so much crazy happening elsewhere, it'll kinda be a blip on the radar. Anybody could have pushed Rhonda, Hamri says. "First and foremost, we saw a body frame. It could have been male or female. It could have been a relative, a long-distance relative," she hints. "It could have been a close friend, it could have been one of Lucious' (Terrence Howard) sons. ... Everybody is a suspect."

3. Hakeem's wedding is going to be a hot mess, isn't it?
You know it! It's a Lyon affair, after all. Someone crashes it in dramatic, violent fashion and, as you saw from promos, Anika (Grace Gealey) ends up literally on the ledge.

4. Will Lucious' mom cause havoc?
Of course! "She has some dirt on Lucious that nobody else has," Hamri says of Leah Walker (Leslie Uggams). "That's why she's dangerous. We don't know what that is but we know Lucious is scared. [What she has] could possibly topple Lucious' character and tumble Empire, and you'll see in the finale the truth beginning to unravel. She comes back from the dead, so to speak, and is pulling the string to make it all unravel. We really start to understand Lucious' back story even deeper and further."
Empire's Season 2 finale airs Wednesday at 9/8c on Fox.
