Emmys Odds: Mad Men, 30 Rock Are the Ones to Beat

The L.A. Times' GoldDerby.com has released its latest odds on Sunday's Emmy Awards, and thus far there are few surprises. For Best Drama, Mad Men earns the site's nod, though Damages is a close second. In the lead acting/drama races, James Spader (Boston Legal) and Glenn Close (Damages) top their respective peers, while Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Mariska Hargitay (SVU) nip at their heels. On the lighter side, 30 Rock is edging out The Office in the Outstanding Comedy category; similarly, Alec Baldwin has a slight lead over Steve Carell. America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) is the pick to take home Lead Actress/Comedy honors, unless Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?) pulls off an upset.Among us here at TVGuide.com, Matt Roush's forecast can be found here, while Matt Mitovich's picks to win — Dexter's Michael C. Hall and Applegate included — is posted here, alongside those of 23 of his peers.
