Emile Hirsch Welcomes a Baby Boy

Emile Hirsch is taking on a new role: Dad.

The actor welcomed a baby boy named Valor last weekend, E! Online reports. Valor was born on Oct. 27 at a hospital in Florida. His mother is an "unnamed former flame" of Hirsch's whom he met at an Oscar after-party earlier this year and had a brief fling with, according to E!.

"He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy," a source close to the actor tells E! of Valor. "Everyone is so excited and happy. ... Emile showed up after the baby was born and he is spending time bonding with his new child."

Earlier this month, a source close to Hirsch, 28, reported that he and the mother are still friendly and that he plans to have an active role in the baby's life.

Next up for Hirsch? Playing Clyde Barrow in Lifetime's upcoming Bonnie & Clyde miniseries. He's also signed on to portray John Belushi in an indie biopic.
