Emergence Sneak Peek: Jo Puts the Cuffs on the Mysterious Kindred

Mr. Kindred (Terry O'Quinn) is finally going to have to give the authorities some answers on the next episode of Emergence. In this sneak peek of Tuesday's new episode, titled "RDZ9021," Chief Jo (Allison Tolman) officially puts the mysterious tech mogul under arrest for burglary, assaulting a police officer, kidnapping, murder, and so many other charges that she'll have to refer to her list later to give him a full accounting of what he faces.

Kindred doesn't resist the arrest, of course, but he does have a menacing response to having those handcuffs put on him; he says, as a thinly veiled threat, "I have gone so easy on you." Jo doesn't look scared, but she doesn't exactly look amused either.

We don't yet know the full circumstances that will lead up to Kindred's arrest, but we do know that Jo has had him in her sights for a while now. She's also worked very hard to secure the firsthand source who could help shed some light on what Kindred's company is really up to -- especially as it pertains to little Piper (Alexa Swinton), the lovable but potentially dangerous AI kid living in her house.

Knowing what we know about Kindred's connections and sneaky technological tactics, it wouldn't be surprising if he doesn't spend much time behind bars after this; but then again, Jo is throwing the book at him in the sneak peek, so he might have a hard time convincing a judge to bond him out. We'll find out if those charges stick soon enough!
