"Embarrassed" Vanessa Apologizes to HSM Fans, as Disney Backs Star
Speaking out for the first time since her nude and racy photos slipped into cybercirculation, Vanessa Hudgens offers impressionable High School Musical fans an earnest mea culpa (have Mom look it up in a Latin dictionary). "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," the 18-year-old starlet says in a statement released to TVGuide.com. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."And the Mouse House's take on it all? "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment," Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague tells the AP.
