Rock hero Eddie Van Halen is battling cancer, Reuters reports. According to the Van Halen web site, the hard-livin' guitarist, 45, visited the University of Texas's M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston last week to begin outpatient treatment. Van Halen, who is married to One Day at a Time cutie Valerie Bertinelli, is a heavy smoker and a recovering alcoholic, leading to Internet speculation that he is suffering from cancer of the tongue.
