Why Ed Westwick Won't Fill the Gossip Girl-Sized Hole in Our Hearts with a Reboot

We're still holding out hope for an eventual Gossip Girl reunion! XOXO

Looks like we'll never get to see Chuck Bass back on the small screen.

With reboots happening left and right, we had to ask Ed Westwick - who stars on the upcoming ABC drama Wicked City - if he'd ever revisit our favorite Gossip Girlcharacter in the future. Sadly, his answer left us with no hope for the show's return.

"I had an amazing time on Gossip Girl, but I'm pretty sure it's done," he says in the video above. "For me, it's about moving on and doing other things. We had a great run and I recognize how privileged and honored I am to have done it, but now I'm really looking forward to doing [Wicked City]."

15 canceled shows we want to bring back

For Westwick's former co-star Chace Crawford, who also has a show coming up on ABC called Blood & Oil, he says it's just like old times now that they're back on the same network three years after their CW series ended.

"It's funny. I just saw him [in the hallway] and was like, 'Hey, what's up? What are you doing later? Let's grab a bite. We never missed a beat," Crawford told us at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "I was really happy when our pilots got picked up on the same day. We talked on that day and my dad called him too -- that's how close we all are."

Are you still holding out hope for a Gossip Girl reboot?

Blood & Oil premieres on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 9/8c and Wicked City premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10/9c, both on ABC.
