He sang lead on such songs as "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Already Gone," Lyin' Eyes" and "Heartache Tonight."

As a solo artist, Frey released five albums and scored his biggest hit with "The Heat Is On," which was featured on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. Frey went on to recur on Wiseguysand starred as a detective on CBS' South of Sunset, which was canceled after one episode in 1993. His other acting credits include Nash Bridges, Arli$$and Jerry Maguire.
