First Look: A New Menace on DreamWorks Dragons: Defenders of Berk

Dragon training gets complicated this week on DreamWorks Dragons: Defenders of Berk (Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7:30/6:30c on Cartoon Network) when Hiccup and his crew discover a deadly dragon. In the two-part episode (concluding at 8/7c), the Dragon Riders uncover a Skrill, a lightening-powered dragon who has been frozen on the Island of Berk for decades. The Skrill wakes up with an icy attitude — literally and figuratively — and then the Riders accidentally lose sight of him.

As if a rogue dragon isn't enough trouble, Hiccup's nemesis, Dagur, also causes a stir. '"Dagur reveals himself to be a much stronger villain than previously expected," says showrunner Art Brown. "He is a worthy adversary of Hiccup and the Dragon Riders."

Ultimately, Hiccup and the Dragon Riders are faced with an invasion fronted by Dagur, his brand new ally Alvin and, of course, their captured Skrill. While the Dragon Riders have conquered some big challenges in the past, this combo could be a real skriller.
