Jimmy Kimmel grilled Donald Trump over his proposed temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States on Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. But the Republican presidential candidate pulled the oldest trick in the "I'm not racist" book with the classic "But some of my best friends are..." defense.

"I have many, many friends who are Muslim and they're great people," Trump said. "And some of them, not all of them ... but many of them called me and they said, 'You know what, Donald? You're right. We have a problem.'"

"Those may have been crank calls," Kimmel said. "Did you check the caller ID?"

Kimmel then challenged Trump to explain how his stance doesn't help ISIS recruit members. "I don't buy it," Trump declared, refusing to acknowledge that his fear-mongering may possibly have negative consequences.
