Doctor Who: The Doctor and Nardole Are Still Your Faves in New Christmas Special Trailer
Plus: Who is the mysterious Ghost?
It's the most wonderful time of the year! And no, we're not talking about the holidays. We're talking about the Doctor Who Christmas special!
The BBC released the first trailer for the special, titled The Return of Doctor Mysterio, in which the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) returns to New York City. Teaming up with his old friend Nardole (Matt Lucas), an investigative reporter and a superhero known as the Ghost (Justin Chatwin), the Doctor will be tasked with saving Manhattan from brain-swapping aliens.
The Return of Doctor Mysterio was written by departing showrunner Steven Moffat. Producer Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch)will replace Moffat after the upcoming Season 10, which is expected to air in Spring 2017.
The Doctor Who Christmas special will air on Christmas Day at 9/8c on BBC America. It will also enjoy a limited run in theaters from Dec. 27-29.
