Disney's Descendants 2 Is a Go, With a Little Mermaid Twist
It'll be part of your world in 2017
The kids are back and badder than ever.
The Disney Channel announced Friday that it has officially greenlit Descendants 2, the sequel to 2015's top Disney Channel original movie, about the teenage children of Disney villains. The movie will go into production this summer for a 2017 release.
Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Mitchell Hope will all return. China Anne McClain will join the cast as Uma, the daughter of The Little Mermaid's villain Ursula the Sea Witch. Casting is underway for the children of Peter Pan's Captain Hook and Beauty and the Beast's Gaston.
The #1 guy in TV musicals Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, the upcoming Rocky Horror Show) will return as director, executive producer and choreographer.
