The campus comedy returns Aug. 2
Netflix is enrolling for another year at Winchester University, as Dear White People returns for Season 3 on Aug. 2. On Friday, the streaming service released a trailer for the new season of the campus comedy.
"The satirical series -- which picked up where the acclaimed 2014 film by the same name left off -- follows a group of Winchester University's students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof), and activism in the millennial age," according to Netflix. It's got a self-deprecating streak, too, as shown by the joke in the new trailer about how boring and predictable Netflix shows get by their third season. Dear White People is probably going to avoid that trap, though.
Guest stars this season include Yvette Nicole Brown, Blair Underwood, creator Justin Simien, Laverne Cox, Flavor Flav, and more, as teased in this guest cast reveal video that came with the trailer.
Dear White People Season 3 arrives on Netflix Friday, Aug. 2. The first two seasons are available to stream now.
