Disney's The Love Bug Star Dean Jones Dies at 84

The star of screen and stage had Parkinsons disease

Dean Jones, star of classic Disney films such as The Love Bug and That Darn Cat! has died at the age of 84 from complications from Parkinson's disease, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Jones began his career as the host of a local radio program, Dean Jones Sings, before first appearing on screen with small roles. He eventually appeared in 46 movies over the course of his Hollywood career, including Beethoven and Clear and Present Danger.

He also appeared on Broadway and had roles in numerous television series, including Ensign O'Toole, The Love Boat, and the Herbie, the Love Bug series.

Jones was born on January 25, 1931 and went on to serve in the Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, three children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
