Is This Anything? David Letterman Marries!

David Letterman has married his longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko.

Letterman broke the news of his nups during Monday's taping of CBS' Late Show. "On Thursday at 3 p.m., March 19, 2009, at the Teton County Courthouse in Choteau, Montana, I was married to Regina Lasko," he told the audience.

The news comes as a particular surprise since Letterman and Lasko have been together for more than two decades without making it official. He joked: "Regina and I began dating in February of 1986, and I said, 'Well, things are going pretty good, let's just see what happens in about 10 years.'" The couple now has a 5-year-old son, Harry, who was present at the ceremony, which they almost missed when their pickup truck got stuck in the mud on the way to the courthouse.

The former enthusiastic bachelor (half-seriously?) explained his hesitance to tie the knot. "I secretly felt that men who were married admired me, like I was the last of the real gunslingers, you know what I'm saying?" he asked.

Letterman was previously married for seven years to his college sweetheart Michelle Cook.
