"Same genius. New world."
When Starz's Da Vinci's Demons returns, Leonardo (Tom Riley) must push the limits of his mind and body to defend the city of Florence from the forces of Rome. But Da Vinci's quest to uncover the secret history of his mother will also take him to new lands where he's forced to reevaluate everything he knew about the world and his own history.
"The scope has definitely expanded and the stakes are even higher," executive producer David S. Goyer says in our exclusive behind-the-scenes look below.
"Icarus and the hubris of flight is the perfect metaphor for Leonardo in Season 2 of Da Vinci's Demons," Alison Hoffman, SVP of Originals Marketing for Starz, told TVGuide.com about the design of the season's new key art below. "He continues to put himself in danger in his quest for truth and his obsession with achieving the impossible. We wanted to create a piece of art that communicated that Leo's single-mindedness could be his undoing this season. To help us capture a moment that felt like a free fall, Tom Riley was a great sport and agreed to be suspended from a wire for the photo shoot."
Da Vinci's Demons returns on Saturday, March 22 at 9/8c on Starz.
