American Idol Runner-Up Crystal Bowersox Splits From Husband

After less than three years, American Idol's Crystal Bowersox and husband Brian Walker have decided to split, Peoplereports.

"After two and a half years, we have decided to end our marriage," the couple told the magazine in a joint statement. "The friendship and love which brought us together remains strong, and we will continue to support each other in our careers and personal lives. We are hopeful that people will be respectful of our privacy as we face this emotional and challenging time for our family."

The couple, who were longtime friends before becoming romantic, tied the knot in October 2010 in a Chicago club where they first met at an open-mic night six years prior.

The 27-year-old Idol runner-up has a 4-year-old son from a previous relationship.
