The Beastie Boys have joined the Rev. Al Sharpton in the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' campaign to force KFC to treat their chickens with a little TLC. In an open letter to the fast-food giant, the hip-hoppers demand that the chain stop patronizing poultry suppliers that are alleged to break birds' beaks or use growth-inducing drugs. "By doing nothing," the missive stated, "you are to blame for the cruelty that these chickens endure, which is truly sickening." Agreed. So, salads all around today?
