Funny man Craig Robinson is taking a turn for the serious with a reoccurring guest role on USA's Mr. Robot.

The network announced on Monday that Robinson will play Ray, "a neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot (Rami Malek) in his time of need." He joins rapper Joey Bada$$ and Chris Conroy as new faces this season.

Robinson is most known for his straight-faced humor with stints on The Office and his short-lived sitcom Mr. Robinson.

In a shift that reflects a vote of confidence in the critically acclaimed series, Mr. Robot's second season is not only being completely written but directed by creator Sam Esmail as well. It premieres later this spring on USA.
