The Friday Night Lights alum also tweeted: "So honored and thrilled to be new @UNDP Goodwill Ambassador! #endpoverty #Connie4UNDP."
Britton plans to focus her efforts on women's issues and eradicating poverty. "In my own travels, I've seen many places where people are living in extreme poverty," she said, according to The Associated Press. "It's unacceptable that, in 2014, one billion people live in such conditions, and a full 60 percent of the chronically hungry in the world are women. I look forward to working with UNDP to help change this and improve the lives of vulnerable people worldwide."
Do you think Britton will make a good ambassador?
