Dan Harmon Returns to Community for Fifth Season

It's official: Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are returning to Community as executive producers for Season 5, Community producer Sony TV announced Monday. Earlier this month, Harmon tweeted that he would be coming back to the NBC comedy, but the deals had not yet closed. Harmon, who created the show, was fired in 2012. Although the show earned a renewal in his absence, many felt the quality of the show suffered without him.

Does anyone even want another season of Community?

"I expected the fan reaction I got when I was leaving, which was that nothing really happened," Harmon told TVGuide.com t the ATX conference in Austin, Tex. this weekend. "Because all my life I've been being dismissed from things and finding out nobody cared that much."

But most fans were happy to hear the news that he would be returning to the show — a reaction Harmon says is a double-edged sword. "I was like, 'OK, that makes me feel pretty good,'" Harmon said. "But it also puts a lot of pressure on me, which I'm very happy about. That's how I like to work."
