In her first Broadway foray, Oprah Winfrey has poured $1 million of her own cash into the upcoming musical adaptation of The Color Purple. As a result, the production will now be dubbed — no joke — Oprah Winfrey Presents: The Color Purple. As you'll recall, Winfrey was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for the big-screen Purple. The stage version stars Oprah Winfrey Presents: LaChanze, Oprah Winfrey Presents: Elisabeth Withers and Oprah Winfrey Presents: Renée Elise Goldsberry.
