Guess who was really playing that trumpet?
Thursday's episode of Marvel's Cloak and Daggergave us a look at Andre's (Brooklyn McLinn) life before he became the sex-trafficking villain of the season. The show traveled back in time eight years to Andre's days as a jazz musician trying to make it into the league of the greats.
New Orleans has a rich history of jazz, and the crew behind Marvel's Cloak and Dagger worked hard to bring the scene to life knowing this. The club the flashback scene takes place in is a real club in New Orleans rather than a set built for the episode. Its name, "Club Delight," was actually inspired by the Cloak and Dagger comics; the drug that gave Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) their powers was called D-Lite.

While McLinn took trumpet lessons to prepare for the role, the song he's playing in the scene was actually performed by the show's composer, Mark Isham. Even the cinematographer for the episode took jazz lessons so he could be prepared to shoot the scene! Check out all the other cool facts about the episode in our Did You Know video above.
Marvel's Cloak and Dagger airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Freeform.
