Chris Messina, Actual Best Chris, to Star in The Sinner Season 3 With Matt Bomer

Who's ready for a messy Bomer-Messina bromance?

The best Hollywood Chris to star opposite Mindy Kaling in a sitcom is bringing his talents to The Sinner. Chris Messina, last seen on TV as the sweaty guy from Sharp Objects, will join Matt Bomer and Bill Pullman in Season 3 of the USA Network crime thriller.

Messina is set to play Nick Haas, an old college friend of Jamie's (Bomer) who probably has some skeletons in his closet. This is The Sinner, after all. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Nick's unexpected return to town "alters the course of their friendship and lives." From the sound of it, the only clean-cut thing about this guy is his name.

The Sinner Renewed for Season 3 with Matt Bomer

Season 3 finds Detective Harry Ambrose (Pullman) investigating a car accident that pulls him into the most disturbing case of his career -- as opposed to Season 2, which saw him take on the most baffling case of his career. Bomer's Jamie is an expectant dad who leans on Ambrose for support after a tragic accident.

No word yet on when the new season will arrive, but we do know that executive producer Jessica Biel probably won't be in it -- she didn't appear in Season 2.

The first two seasons of The Sinner are now streaming on Netflix.
