Chris Brown has been ordered to stay in jail for at least a month, TMZ.com reports.

Brown appeared in court on Monday after being sent to jail for getting kicked out of his court-mandated rehab. The judge stated that Brown had an "inability to stay out of trouble" and denied his request to be released from jail. Brown will return to court on April 23 for a progress report.

When Brown last appeared in court, a judge ruled that he should stay at a treatment facility for substance abuse and anger management because he was doing well and the program gave him an "adequate safety net." However, he was kicked out of the facility for allegedly violating "internal rules." Per the judge's order, if Brown left the rehab facility he was to go to jail.

According to TMZ, the violations he committed included declining to take a random drug test, harsh comments during a group session and touching a female, despite rules that said he had to stay at least two feet away from them.

The judge's original order for rehab came when Brown, 24, was in court because of his arrest on an assault charge in Washington D.C., last October when he allegedly punched and broke the nose of a man trying to take his picture. In November, he was sentenced to 90 days in the program. The D.C. trial is slated to begin on April 17.

Brown's probation stemming from his 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna was also revoked in November.
