Chicago Fire Exclusive: Watch Boden Get His Groove Back

It's about time!

Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) hasn't quite been himself lately, but it looks like that's about to change on Chicago Fire.

In an exclusive sneak peek at this week's episode, Firehouse 51's charismatic leader returns to his old self at the scene of a gnarly construction accident, no less. The daring rescue saw the Chief team up with Severide (Taylor Kinney) to pull a victim from wet cement, and her revival seems to have exposed a new sense of hope in the previously glum firefighter.

"What got into you?" Severide asks. "A wakeup call this morning," Boden replies.

We're hoping these positive vibes continue throughout the episode because some of our brave firefighters will need it. Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Casey (Jesse Spencer) will have to deal with a whirlwind of emotions when Bria suddenly reappears. According to showrunner Derek Haas, her arrival will spark the couple's "maternal and paternal instincts," signaling plenty of drama ahead.

Plus, Otis (Yuri Sardarov), who has been rehabbing a serious neck injury, will need to tackle his next challenge in the hopes of rejoining the team. With Cordova (Damon Dayoub officially gone, the stage is set for his triumphant return to Truck 81. That is, if all goes according to plan.

Watch it all unfold when Chicago Fire airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC.
