Chicago Fire's Miranda Rae Mayo: Kidd Is "Like the Female Severide"

But do they have a history?

Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) is ready to shake things up on Chicago Fire.

The newest member of 51 is an old pal of Dawson's (Monica Raymund) who's fitting right in with her new team. "She's real rowdy, so in some ways she just is like this pop of color that makes everything else pop too. [But] she doesn't stick out too much, because everybody is such a character," Mayo tells TVGuide.com. "I think she just brings this strong, feminine brashness, and kind of this traditionally male point of view, where she's like, 'Whatever. I want to be single for forever.' She's kind of like the female Severide in some ways. She just got divorced and she's like, 'I don't want to hear about it. I just want to have fun.'"

Chicago Fire Mega Buzz: Will Casey's campaign mean trouble for him and Dawson?

Dawson isn't the only one in the house with whom Kidd has a history. She and Severide (Taylor Kinney) had a cryptic exchange when Kidd first joined the squad, referencing a night when Severide let himself into her house. Is there a romantic component to their past?

See what Mayo says in the video above.

Chicago Fire airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
